Hey Hey USA!

Only 2 months left before I’m back in beautiful ol’ USA.  I really can’t wait.  I don’t think I’ve spent a year away from my family and good friends before and although I’m not crying myself to bed at night I am definitely reminding myself daily that big hugs from them are soon to come.

Things I’m looking forward to doing again when I get back to the States:
– Drinking a Starbucks coffee
– Taking the Subway in NYC
– Eating an Astoria bagel with some thick ass cream cheese
– Drinking a micro-brew.
– Driving a car
– Eating a Jumbo Slice and a 5 guys burger
– Using my credit card for everything instead of cash
– Signing my old karaoke songs.
– Spending the holidays in my favorite places (thxgiving at home, NYE in NYC)
-Talking in English (obviously)
– Working out in a gym with all the fixins.
– Jack Daniels
– Unlimited supply of almond butter and berries.

Things I will miss:
– cheap, delicious, fresh meats, fruits and vegetables.
– Partying until 7am
– Speaking Spanish
– Aleta’s empanadas arabes and Sobran Los Motivos Cinnamon Apple Muffins
– mis amigos
– Asados
– The Mercadals

The only thing that really sucks about leaving in 2 months is the fact that I have finally found a great place to live that I really like and I’ll have to give it up unless I want to pay full rent for 4 months without being here.  Finding a person to sublet will be more hassle than it is worth because no one will want to move to an apartment for only 4 months.  I’ll cross the moving bridge when I come to it.  When I return in March I have no idea what I’m going to do — whether I will stay with the Mercadals again or what.  I’ve really got to figure that out.  In the meantime, I’m gonna go dream about the USA and all my stateside peeps.
